Launch day Day 8

We cannot launch our rocket because of the explosion that we encountered. I am thinking of sneaking out of the mac lab and go ghetto  together our rocket and launch it. But thats just a thought well it isn't any snicker snicker snicker. What? No really going to ghetto together right now and let the caacaa have one last chance and one last flight.

Day 7 D=

Our angry bird rocket was so angry well..... It blew up. I don't think is was so mad about the pig steeling our angry birds eggs but it seems like the hot glue really did the trick to make a angry bird madder. The strange part is that the rocket blew up at the strongest part of the rocket. It blew up at the bottom where the plastic the thickest. It had more of a split where the plastic was molded together witch makes sense because that is a weak spot in the rocket. I don't think hot gluing in the plastic bottle had any-thing to do with the rocket blowing up because there is a good distance where the hot glue was put and where the bottle blew-up. Thats a bummer because we wanted to go over 350 feet high but thats ok. Some one could of died if our rocket didn't blow up.

Day 6

Today, we tested the caacaa and we made it fly a lot higher. In support, it flew 240 feet high. We made a major improvement of height. Our last launch went 180 feet. We changed the weight of the rocket and made it heavier by adding clay to the nose cone. We lightened the weight of the rocket and took off 21.5 grams of clay and because of the lighter weight, the rocket went 330 feet high! We hope to improve the hight by finding the perfect power to weight ratio.

Day 5

Launch day!!!
Today we tested the caaacaaa, and it worked. It flew 51 meters high! Although there where a few problems that we concluded to be with the fins and nose cone we hope to fix them by adding extra clay to the nose of the rocket, and make the fins bigger so it will be more stable on the way up and down. But tomorrow we want to make the caaacaaa go CAACAA on our next test launch.

Day 3

Today, Patrick and I started to construct our bottle rocket. As you can see from the picture above, we have successfully attached our rocket fins to the rocket with hot glue. We cut a very thin piece of wood into three fins. Since this type of wood is so thin, we covered both sides of it with six layers of duct tape, so when it gets launched into the air, the fins won't fall apart.

Day 2

Today, Patrick and I researched on the internet for information on how to make the best bottle rocket for height. We looked up 30 tips to make it go higher and found some useful stuff. Tomorrow, we will use our supplies to begin creating our bottle rocket. The CAACAA!

Day 1

On 5/18/12, Mr.Myers, Mr.Lynch and Mrs.Cheney launched rockets with different shapes and sizes. They filled the different rockets with different amounts of water with different amounts of air pressure to send the rocket into the sky. I found that to get the rocket to go the highest, you need the right amount of water and air pressure to get a good push for the rocket to go up. With the different amounts of adjustments to the rocket, I got different types of results.
